At the pace of the draught horses, hop aboard the island’s Hippobus for a one-hour guided tour of the salt marshes!
Hervé, the man in the hat, will tell you all about how the island was formed and the history of the salt marshes. He’ll explain how the salt workers produce ‘white gold’ and reveal a few secrets – but not all of them…
Open from 5 July to 28 August 2026.
Departures from in front of Noirmoutier Castle, every day (except Saturdays) at 2.30 pm and 4 pm.
No booking required; tickets can be purchased on board the Hippobus.
2026 prices:
Adults (aged 12 and over): 12 euros
Children (aged 3 and over): 8 euros
Free for children under 3
Dogs of all sizes welcome. All payment methods accepted (including holiday vouchers and ‘Chèques Vacances Connect’).
