Car parks in the island of Noirmoutier

Car parks in Barbâtre, La Guérinière and L'Epine are free of charge.

The town of Noirmoutier-en-l'île has set up a park-and-ride service where you can leave your vehicle: the "parking du centre-ville" or "parking de l'Etier du Moulin (the large town centre car park). Located at the entrance to the town, this car park has around 400 spaces and is just a short walk from the bus station. The bus station is the departure point for the "Gratibus" shuttles, which take you free of charge to a number of sites and tourist attractions on the island of Noirmoutier.

Parking in Noirmoutier-en-l’Île town centre and at Plage des Dames is chargeable from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm:

• May: weekends, public holidays and bank holiday weekends
• June: weekends
• From July to 27 September 2026: every day

• Municipal car park, Rue de la Pointe (84 spaces)

Parking remains free:

• The first 30 minutes: in all zones, including Plage des Dames
• Étier du Moulin car park (town entrance): 505 free spaces all year round
• For holders of a disability parking card (Mobility Inclusion Card or European parking card).

NOIRMOUTIER-EN-L'ÎLE / PLAGE DES DAMES / PORT DE L'HERBAUDIÈRE Noirmoutier-en-l'île Town centre

• Parking (maximum 24 hours) at Town Centre Car Park 3 (coach parking): Rue de la Prée aux Ducs, close to the Camping-Car Park area at 800m from the historic centre (medieval castle, church, Place d’Armes square, etc.), and 400 m from the town centre (market square, shops, restaurants, bars, etc.).
• Passengers may be dropped off at the bus station, 600 m from the historic centre and 200 m from the town centre.
• Traffic and parking are difficult on market days, in the mornings and at midday: Fridays all year round, and Tuesdays and Sundays in the high season. More information available about the markets.

Plage des Dames beach

• Temporary parking tolerated on Avenue Maréchal Joffre: along the municipal tennis courts and the stadium, depending on available spaces, 900 m from the entrance to Plage des Dames.
• Passengers may be dropped off at the "min" stop located 300 m from the entrance to Plage des Dames.

Port de l’Herbaudière

• Off-season: temporary parking on Rue de la Pointe (between the municipal campsite and the harbour) or at the Herbaudière church car park (1 km from the harbour).
• In season: temporary parking tolerated on Rue de la Pointe or at the church car park only if spaces are available.
• Traffic and parking are difficult on Monday mornings and at midday during the season (market day). More information on market days available.

BarbâtrePassage du Gois

• Bypass area: near the former customs officer’s cottage. Temporary parking (up to 3 hours) 600 m from the entrance to the Passage du Gois, on the Noirmoutier Island side. Consult tide timetables.
• Tourist Office, Rue du Polder: temporary all-day parking, 1.8 km from the entrance to the Passage du Gois, on the island side.
• Information for coaches: one-way crossing at low tide, from Beauvoir-sur-Mer (mainland) to Barbâtre (the first municipality south of Noirmoutier Island). Consult tide timetables.

Polder de Sébastopol (regional natural reserve and birds)

• Tourist Office, Rue du Polder: temporary all-day parking, 800 m from the Polder de Sébastopol.

Plage des Onchères beach

• Parking near the football pitch at the end of Chemin de la Martinière.

LA GUÉRINIÈRE

Town Centre and Seafront

• Place des Pinsonnières: no parking time limit. At 350 m from the town centre (Museum of Traditions), 600 m from the seafront (Boulevard de l’Océan), 1 km from the blockhouses (AWM Atlantic Wall Memory Association).
• Rue Centrale (Museum of Traditions, town centre): road closed on Thursdays until 4 pm (market day). More information on markets available.
• No access to Boulevard de l’Océan via Avenue de l’Océan (central median).

Port de Bonhomme

• No parking time limit.

L'EPINE

Town Centre

• Place du Docteur Plantier: temporary parking except on Saturday mornings and at midday (market day). More information on markets available.
• Sports hall/shooting range: located on the right of the D38 (shortly after the Renault “Les Eglats” garage), temporary parking only on Saturday mornings and at midday (market day). Caution: the D38 must be crossed on foot (much traffic).

Port de Morin

• Drop-off zone at 25 Rue du Port: 300 m from the Port du Morin Harbour Master’s Office car park.
• Opposite the company "BILLET MARINE": temporary parking on a small space.
• Along the D38: temporary parking.
