Overview
1 POISSON DANS L’O is an open-air workshop offering classes in drawing, watercolour and mixed media, bringing you as close as possible to nature and the beauty that surrounds us. I offer introductory sessions exploring the island of Noirmoutier through sketching, as well as ‘travel sketchbook’ courses which can be combined with activities to discover the island’s natural treasures (shells, plants, fish, etc.).
With a degree in Fine Art and a passion for watercolour, after 25 years as a graphic designer and pre-press studio manager, followed by training in art education at the Atelier de la Salamandre, I have reconnected with nature by setting up my travelling workshop, ‘1 poisson dans l’O’, on the island of Noirmoutier (where I live all year round), to share my passion for drawing and watercolour painting and pass on my knowledge.
Topics covered include: line work, composition, proportions, values, brushwork, colours, blending, blur and sharpness…
All the fundamentals of drawing and watercolour are covered, through exercises designed to stimulate your eye and your hand, in pursuit of spontaneity and authenticity.
The subjects chosen include: beaches and coves, dunes and forests, salt marshes and the ocean, flora and fauna, villages and windmills, people…
A tailored, dynamic and fun approach to teaching: you’ll learn to observe, compose, create rhythm, focus on the essentials and interpret with personality. I’ll help you capture your emotions in a sketchbook, let go and experience the joy of drawing and painting from life.
A flexible, no-obligation programme: whether on your own or in a group, I organise artistic getaways and themed courses on the island of Noirmoutier all year round:
- 2-hour MINI DISCOVERY COURSE (1 to 8 people – children aged 9 and over and adults)
- 4-hour MINI EXPLORATION WORKSHOP (1 to 8 people – teenagers and adults)
- 7-hour THEMED WORKSHOP WITH ACTIVITY (3 to 8 people – teenagers and adults)
- 2 to 4-day INTENSIVE WORKSHOP. (3 to 8 adults)
