A passion for the sea and interior design...
Voilerie Simonin was founded in 1985 by Gérard Simonin following his training at Voilerie Burgaud, and later became an Elvtröm Sails dealer.
After many years spent designing and repairing boat sails, his children, David Simonin and his sister Clémence, took over the business in October 2006.
One is passionate about the sea, the other about interior design... It’s the perfect combination for creating shade sails!
David is a fan of regattas and new technologies, constantly on the lookout for ever more innovative solutions in the manufacture of boat sails and shade sails. In fact, he designed and manufactured the Taquet Winch, which makes tensioning your shade sail as simple as can be.
Clémence loves interior design and always looks for the practical side of things. She’ll therefore be a great source of advice on the aesthetics and layout of your future shade sails, which will enhance the architecture of your home whilst providing excellent shade.
The shade sails from the Simonin sailmaker’s are not simply stretched triangular pieces of fabric; they are genuine sails, designed and handmade in our workshop in Noirmoutier. The materials, cuts, seams and reinforcements are the same as those used for a boat’s sail.
David often says: ‘If the shade sail were the same size as your boat, it would work perfectly.’ That’s how high the quality is.
Beautiful, sturdy, durable and reliable are the hallmarks of our creations.

La Guérinière Sails: open Tuesday to Saturday from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm and from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm.
Closed on Sundays and Mondays.
